Using Medical Insurance

Did you know medical insurance may cover the cost of your wig?

When you lose your hair due to medical reasons like chemotherapy, alopecia or other medical conditions, you can file an insurance claim to receive partial or full cost of our wig (Cranial Prosthesis).

What is a Cranial Prosthesis?

Cranial Prosthesis is the term to use when applying for insurance coverage.  It is a wig for medical patients who have permanent hair loss (such as any form of alopecia) or temporary hair loss resulting from treatment for chemo, radiation or other clinical diseases.

Coverage Depends on your Insurance Plan.

For medical hair loss, most insurance companies will cover between 80-100% of the cost and will allow you to receive one cranial prosthesis per year or medical hair loss.  Depending on your insurance, it may also be a tax deductible medical expense. Discuss this with a tax advisory first.
