How to Choose a Cap

There are several cap types to choose from when purchasing a wig. Below are the options available with an explanation of their features and benefits.


Synthetic Monofilament

  • Creates the illusion of natural hair growing from the scalp where the hair is parted.
  • Each individual hair is hand tied to a partial sheer base.
  • This is found at the crown on the inside of the cap near the predefined part area or across the full top.
  • Full monofilament top wigs provide multidirectional parting options for styling and versatility.

Synthetic Lace Front

  • Creates the most natural looking front hairline.
  • Each hair is individually hand tied to the full mono lace top. 
  • Allows for away from the face styling
  • The lace is delicate material, you will want to be careful with conditioning the hair fibers directly at the root and/or on the lace top.  We recommend applying conditioner approx half way down or using a spray leave in conditioner, being mindful of the lace as to not compromise the hair fibers/knots.
  • Most come ready to wear!

Silk Top 

  • Silk top wigs provide a very realistic part/scalp. The knots in the cap are hidden by a layer of lace and silk fabric on the top front of the cap. When the hair is knotted, the knots are below the silk, concealed between the layers. The hair is injected through the silk material making the knots 100% invisible. Giving the illusion that the hair is actually growing out of your scalp. 

Lace Top

  • Lace top wigs are constructed with a lace cap, which can be made from Swiss lace or French lace. The lace is a fine, sheer material that mimics the appearance of a natural scalp when worn.The hair strands are hand-tied to the lace cap, allowing for a very natural and realistic look at the hairline and parting area. Lace wigs typically have a more breathable and lightweight construction, making them comfortable to wear for extended periods.The lace at the front is translucent and creates a seamless transition between the wig and your forehead, giving the illusion of a natural hairline. Lace wigs tend to be very versatile and are suitable for various hairstyles and partings.

Medical Caps:

    • Medical wigs are also known as cranial prosthesis, are specifically designed for those who have lost their hair due to any medical issues or treatments (i.e., cancer, chemo, alopecia or other medical ailments).
  • Medical wigs have the anti-slip silicon which is an important feature to prevent the wig from slipping. It actually keeps the wig securely in place on your head. In the nape there is anti slip silicone - lined to keep the wig securely in place and comfortable.

    • A well made medical wig will also have Silicone coated stretch mesh to create traction to keep the wig further secure. Perfect for sensitive scalps.
